Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026 · Applies to version 2.1 and later
- The numbers you search are looked up on your phone. We never send them to any server.
- Your history is stored only on your device, and you can delete it at any time.
- You don't need an account, and we don't use analytics tools.
- Ads are served by Google AdMob, which does use data from your device. If you pay to remove ads, the app stops loading AdMob.
Who we are
PhoneTrackr is an app developed by Alan Anaya Araujo (“we”). If you have questions about this policy, write to me@alananaya.dev.
Number lookups
The app includes a database of Mexico's phone number ranges. When you type a number, the lookup happens inside your phone and is not sent to us or to anyone else.
PhoneTrackr shows the region, carrier and line type assigned to the number's range. It does not show anyone's location or track anyone. If a number was ported to another carrier, the carrier shown may be the original one.
Search history
We keep your last 50 searches in your device's storage so you can look them up again. Your history never leaves your phone. You can delete a search by swiping it, clear everything from the History tab, or remove it completely by uninstalling the app.
Contacts
If you pick a number from your contacts, the app opens your phone's contact picker and only reads the number you choose. We don't read, copy or upload your address book. The chosen number is handled exactly like one you typed.
Maps
To show a map of the number's city, the app uses two services:
- System geocoding (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android): receives the city and state name, such as “Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico”, to place the pin. It does not receive the phone number.
- OpenFreeMap: serves the map images. Like any website, it receives your IP address and the map area being shown.
The app does not access your location. The map shows the number's city, not where you are.
Advertising
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device information and how you interact with ads, in order to serve and measure ads and prevent fraud.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before showing personalized ads.
- On iPhone, we ask whether you allow tracking (App Tracking Transparency). If you don't, ads don't use your advertising identifier.
See how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
Purchase to remove ads
Payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive or store your payment details. The app only receives the purchase confirmation and records on your phone that it should no longer show ads. From then on, the app no longer loads AdMob.
What we don't do
- We have no servers of our own that receive your data.
- We don't require an account or sign-in.
- We don't use our own analytics or tracking tools.
- We don't sell or share your information beyond the services described here.
Children
PhoneTrackr is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
- Delete your history from the app at any time.
- Reset or turn off your advertising identifier in your phone's settings.
- On iPhone, change the tracking permission in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Remove ads with a one-time purchase.
- Uninstall the app, which deletes all the data it stores on your phone.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app uses your data, we'll update this policy and the date above.
